Providing relief to the business sector and make it convenient in their online GST return filing, the Government of India has extended the due date for filing March, April & May 2020 GST returns up to 30th, June, 2020.
Companies having a turnover of less than Rs. 5 Crore will not have to pay interest, late fee or penalty. For companies who have exceeded the turnover limit of Rs. 5 Crore, late fees or penalty shall not apply rather a reduced rate of interest @ 9% will be applicable.
Apart from GST return filing due date extension, those who are planning to opt for composition scheme can now register till 30th June 2020.
For the Annual Return filing of FY 18-19, the due date has been extended to 30th Sep 2020.
